The German benchmark index rose 1.2 percent to 25,084 points in early trading. The day before, the Dax had already recovered after a nervous start, as the gold and silver markets calmed down. Stability in the precious metals markets continued on Tuesday. Following developments on the US stock exchanges, positive impulses also came from Asia overnight. According to market strategist Ahmad Assiri at Pepperstone, the framework conditions for precious metals trading have changed little despite the recent turbulence. The MDax-DE0008467416 for medium-sized companies rose 0.7 percent to 31,724 points. The EuroStoxx 50-EU0009658145, the eurozone's leading index, was up one percent. Experts at Landesbank NordLB explained that investors had concluded the day before that nothing fundamental had changed in the otherwise positive market climate. The global economy is still growing solidly despite US tariff policies and geopolitical tensions. “The at times sharp declines in the precious metals markets will not have a lasting effect on the stock market's temperature gauge,” the analysts wrote. Daimler Truck-DE000DTR0CK8 rose 4.6 percent and topped the index, while Siemens Energy-DE000ENER6Y0 followed with a gain of 2.7 percent. At the same time, quarterly reporting is entering a new phase. Laboratory and pharmaceutical equipment supplier Sartorius-DE0007165631 aims to build on its recent progress and grow profitably. However, the targets for 2026 imply lower expectations for both revenue and adjusted operating profit, wrote Charles Pitman-King at Barclays. The deliberately cautious outlook weighed on the stock. Sartorius’ preference shares turned from an initial gain and fell almost two percent, among the weakest in the MDax. Media group ProSiebenSat.1-DE000PSM7770 earned even less last year than feared, contributing to the stock falling 1.6 percent. Analyst opinions also influenced prices. The Hamburg-based company is a globally recognized contract research organization that offers comprehensive solutions in drug research and development.
