Akobo has a direct agreement with the National Oil Company in Ethiopia and receives fuel delivered from Djibouti with a certain priority. As of today, we are receiving deliveries as normal. However, how the situation develops going forward is uncertain and largely depends on developments in the Middle East. Should the fuel supply in the country cease, it will naturally also affect us. Unfortunately, it is not possible for the company to secure its own deliveries outside of the national procurement schemes. We have the capacity to store a significant amount of fuel on site, and we are working to fill up the storage to ensure the best possible preparedness. The camp has some solar energy, but the actual operation of the mine and the processing plant is dependent on diesel.

Strategic reserves: The authorities have replenished national stockpiles to ensure that prioritized sectors (such as gold mines) have operational reliability for at least 30–60 days ahead. What this means for Akobo Minerals (March/April) Although Akobo does not report exact inventory figures for each individual week, they follow a fixed model to secure the coming two months: Secured volume: For the period March and April, companies in this category have been allocated quotas corresponding to their full operational needs (approx. 100,000 liters per month). On-site inventory status: Akobo aims to always have a minimum of 2–3 weeks' consumption (approx. 40,000–60,000 liters) physically available in its tanks in Akobo to withstand transport delays from Addis Ababa. Currency advantage: Since they produce gold, they are allowed to use parts of their own generated dollar values to guarantee payment for fuel. This puts them first in line with importers. Conclusion: For March and April 2026, they are fully covered through the state prioritization lists. Their challenge is not the availability on paper, but whether the trucks can safely get through areas with heavy rain or local unrest.
