Sign a 12 month charter of a 10-year-old ship for $26K. I hope/expect TORM's figures are better, especially for Q1. And I am VERY much looking forward to hearing their Q1 expectations. ChrisShipping on X - who is usually well-informed - writes that MR on Atlantic routes is up from 32K to 52K in a week (!). And it's MANY of the MR routes that are at these levels - Cf. Ed Finley-Richardson/X. Exciting to see how long it lasts! And as an extra twist to the tale, the EU proposes to ban 'marine services' on all Russian oil - this sends even more oil on long-haul journeys. I imagine we will see even more efforts against the shadow fleet from everyone other than Russia's friends, and I think, all things being equal, that India will have to go further to get their barrels - great!

Just try going on X and find Ed Finley-Richardson who daily follows the rates - MRs in the US Gulf are seeing a vertical arrow up and earning up to 70K USD /day). I think all else being equal that 26/2 will be a really excellent day if this continues (and I note that ABG is making a small upward adjustment to the price target). A lot is happening with the shadow fleet (Venezuela, agreements with India, seizures etc). And just look at the Aframax rates; dirty competition for the LR2s - approx 100k /day, up from 60K by the end of '25. Is it 'just' temporary liquidation of Venezuelan oil? Don't know - but they are raking in money, and a dirty LR2 is capacity being removed from clean!·6.2.Maybe I'm asking a stupid question, when AP Mærsk falls why doesn't Torm fall? For 2026, we expect a strong start to the year, although we will eventually see a gradual easing of product tanker rates as newbuilding deliveries begin to impact the market.·6.2.It was not a comparison with all of the Nordics. It was the text they wrote about the tank market that was interesting in relation to Torm.
