- 2 päivää sitten·Looking forward to the report on Thursday. Will we get the final update on Magdalena Solar in Guatemala? Will we get a confirmed dividend? Or does this have to go through GF first? By the way, I'm playing around a bit on chat gpt. It's amazing what you can find in public documents about, among other things, the approval process in Guatemala. Unfortunately, I'm only on a free version, so if any of you here are good at KI and have some time to spare? Then challenge ki to find everything possible about public documents about this process. If I can trust what I've dug up on the free version, it should be just before the plant is in operation/test phase. Good luck on Thursday 🤞21 t sitten·Dividends are made as repayments, among other things because they do not need GF, so there may be a confirmation. I posted an article a while ago about a plant of about 75MW that had started commercial operation in Guatemala, but this plant is not in operation yet either. The previous one that was started in the country was 75MW in January. I am reasonably confident that there is nothing wrong, but you never know. Could there be technical challenges around starting 66+75 MW when they only have 201MW in the country already?
- 30.10.30.10.Fant denne oversikten over hvilke prosesser man skal gjennom i Guatemala.
- 22.10.·Then you have passed 100 million kroner on the book. Smells a bit of a dividend now. Also, I'm really confused as to why it's taking so long in Guatemala? https://newsweb.oslobors.no/message/65763124.10.·Sent an email to IR asking if they could answer some questions of interest to us shareholders. See answer from CFO ( Stefan H.A. Meichsner) below: I would be grateful if you could provide an update on the following points of interest: 1. San Patricio (Guatemala): Construction has been completed, but grid connection is still pending. What is the main reason for the delay, what is the updated timeline for commercial operation, and does this affect your 2025 financial guidance? Svar: We are waiting for a total of three permits from local and national authorities to be allowed to commence the testing phase and, subsequently, officially start operations. We have filed all necessary applications. Overall, the delay is caused by the respective authorities. Other IPPs in the country are reporting similar delays. As we announced this week, we expect testing to start in October. 2. You have guided for cash distributions before year-end 2025. Can you share what format is being considered (dividend, capital repayment, or buyback) and what factors will determine the initial size? Svar: We intend to distribute cash in the form of a capital reduction our of our equity reserve. I will not share any amount at this time as no proposal has officially been made and approved. 3. Following the announced sale of Planeta Rica, are further asset divestments under consideration in the near term? Svar: We will certainly dispose of our second Colombian project (Los Girasoles, 12.3 MWp, operational since mid-2023). Beyond that, we will have a portfolio of three projects (Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico) and we have one 25-30 MW project in El Salvador under development. Whether this portfolio – or parts thereof – will be sold in the near term depends on the trade-off. We can operate the portfolio and generate around USD 2 million is distribution per year, or we can take money off the table by selling the portfolio. The assessment will have to be: What is best for the shareholders in terms of valuation/risk-adjusted returns. 4. How do you currently view market conditions in Mexico and El Salvador, particularly regarding energy prices and margins? Svar: Mexico is difficult as the government is “opposed” to certain benefits renewable energy projects are receiving, which makes deploying capital in new projects difficult. We are currently not eyeing any projects in Mexico. El Salvador is a different story. We believe energy prices will remain comparatively high and return rates to be attractive, which is why we have a project under development. Here the key question will be: Should we sign PPAs for the entire off-take of a plant or expose ourselves to the spot market to a certain degree. Spot exposure limits financial leverage, but could yield higher income. 5. The H1 report highlights security-related costs in Colombia. Do you expect these challenges to materially impact group results going forward? Svar: No, especially since we are divesting from Colombia. Ultimately, this extra cost will go away. In addition, once Guatemala is operational, our remaining Colombian PV plant would only marginally contribute to the group’s result.
- 21.10.·YT-anal Just have a think about renewables investment in Latin America: https://youtu.be/T-Ycf_myD98 I've tried to dig a little into the finances for San Patricio: 34mm in loans have been taken up and the loan-to-value ratio is approx. 80%, i.e. EK approx. 8.5mm, total 42.5mm. PPE has increased by approx. 30mm in the period. In addition, CF 3.9mm in VAT (12% in Guatemala) and 2mm in interest (total in the company I think) and various external project assistance are mentioned. 2mm under current liabilities. In total, I come to +/- 36-38mm per Q2. It could also be true that cash in subsidiaries has grown a lot during the construction period. Could there potentially be some untouched money left in Guatemala? I'm terrified of blind spots here, but for 8.50kr you now get almost 7-8kr cash + approx. 115MW solar power if we start from the balance as of Q2 and assume that the company has positive CF from operations (operating CF was positive in H1 excl. Guatemala VAT) and gets Guatemala up and running (What the hell is going on? 🤯 I assume they would have reported something if something catastrophic had happened).
- 6.10.6.10.Fra LinkedIn: 🔋 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 🌍 Our latest production update shows that MPC Energy Solutions delivered 9.3 GWh of clean and affordable energy to our clients in September — an 8% increase compared to the same month last year. This strong performance lifted our year-to-date energy output to 91.6 GWh, reflecting a 4% year-over-year increase on a like-for-like basis. A strong comeback after August, reflecting the reliability of our renewable portfolio. ⚡🌱 Solid måned!
