    Stablecoins can make international payments cheaper and faster. There is enormous value in that. But why would large companies such as VISA, Mastercard, etc. use Circle's solution? They can copy the technology (like Ethereum setup, just like Arc, or Solana) and enjoy many of the benefits of blockchain technology without intermediaries. Small players may find Circle (or why not the completely open Ethereum or Solana) attractive because they then do not have to invest in their own blockchain technology. I have thought a lot about how to invest in stablecoins and crypto in general in a long-term successful way, and what in that world could be a sustainable competitive advantage. Maybe Circle will be successful, but I can't really convince myself of that. Doesn't Paypal already have its own stablecoin? Out of sheer laziness, those who use Paypal for payments will probably use it the most (I'm just mentioning it as an example). The big payment giants (VISA etc.) like to lock in customers via cashbacks (read for example about how some airlines' profits now mainly come from the credit cards they issue) and that business idea is unlikely to disappear due to stablecoins. How does Circle fit into this and how will they make money, sustainably? Opinions very welcome!

    I am in Circle because the US is acting according to grand macro strategy and it will benefit the US if USDC gets a tailwind and not, for example, USDT. Circle will get a tailwind if the US wants it. The free market forces are driven by political winds in the present - and in the future I believe.
