Analyst Benoit Poirier maintained his buy recommendation for the Canadian marine technology company after the announcement of battery sales worth $35 million to three unnamed customers. "We have raised our exit multiple and our DCF (discounted cash flow) growth assumptions for Kraken, as we believe the company remains undervalued compared to competitors in drone and defense technology such as KTOS (93x EV/2027 EBITDA), ONDS (266x), RDW (42x) and FLT (96x), despite superior profitability," Poirier wrote in a client note. "Our confidence in Kraken's growth prospects in the battery segment has been strengthened after this morning's announcement and the latest news flow in the industry," the analyst said. The company is in a "momentum phase" according to the press release, and the hiring indicates that Kraken is preparing for faster global expansion.
