It is an important step in building the industrial platform necessary to support further growth, particularly within the Defense and Aerospace market sector and other areas with strict regulations and reliability requirements, says Peter Nilsson, CEO of Kitron. Investment Supercycle in Defense For the first half of 2026, Kitron reported revenue of 568 million euros, an increase of 69 percent compared to the same period last year. Defense and Aerospace has become the company's largest market sector, as a result of increased investments in security and defense capabilities in Europe and NATO countries. – Secure and regulated electronics production is a strategic bottleneck in the European investment supercycle in defense. We must build secure supply chains with high reliability that are capable of delivering to modern defense platforms at the required pace, says Nilsson. The new facility is approximately 7,500 square meters and comes in addition to Kitron's existing factory in Kilsund. Together, the two facilities have around 550 employees. Long-term commitment in Arendal – As one of the largest private employers in the region, Kitron is proud to make this long-term commitment for the benefit of the local community and our customers. Together with the facility in Kilsund, the new factory gives us significantly increased capacity for further growth, says Geir Henriksen, Managing Director of Kitron Norway. Today's official opening gathers customers, business partners, investors, employees, media, and representatives of national and local authorities.
I believe margins will increase when they eventually can take on more of the holistic production processes from the drawing board to the finished tested product.
