The hacker group ShinyHunters is behind it and says they gained access via a third-party service (Anodot), not directly through Rockstar. They have given a deadline until April 14 before they potentially leak data. Rockstar usually doesn't pay a single krone to these fools, so it's likely that something will become public. It will probably not be gameplay or source code this time, but rather financial and internal information. Nevertheless, it can provide interesting insights into development, marketing of GTA VI, and perhaps also future projects. Well, we'll just have to wait and see how this develops 🙈

Rockstar Games has previously asked for extra development time – and that was approved by Take-Two's top management – which only underlines how seriously they take the project at Take-Two and Rockstar Games, and how high their quality standards are. This points to a company that prioritizes perfection over haste - the game is coming November 19. Here are the most important points from the interview where Strauss Zelnick guested on Mad Money with Jim Cramer in early February 2026: 1. He confirmed great confidence in the game. Zelnick agreed with Cramer that GTA 6 is potentially “the biggest entertainment product ever”. 2. They are following development extremely closely. He explained that they track progress “every single day”, which is why they feel confident about the release plan. This is Strauss Zelnick's way of saying: We're not guessing - we know how far Rockstar Games is. 3. Marketing only comes close to launch. One of the most quoted things: “we don’t spend money on marketing until we’re pretty close to release” This means: They deliberately hold back marketing to build hype close to release. 4. Marketing will be “pretty wild”. He teased that the campaign will be very creative, and that people will be “astonished” (surprised/impressed). 5. Marketing should feel real – not like advertising. He also said something along the lines of: They “don’t sell hamburgers – but a unique art form” (i.e.: they want the marketing to feel organic and authentic). In short: Zelnick's message to Cramer was: GTA 6 is enormously important and potentially historically big. 1. They are very confident in the development. 2. Marketing will be short, intense, and creative. 3. And they deliberately hold back on hype until close to release. Personally, I will continue to buy into the stock, and have already bought additional shares yesterday. This is NOT a recommendation to sell OR buy Take-Two Interactive, always do your own analysis first.

Take-Two is known for being extremely perfectionistic when it comes to their games, and they would never launch such extensive marketing if they were not convinced that the game would actually be released on that date.
