It primarily competes with Amazon in the French market. Some key figures: Over 9 million active customers. Around 80 million products on the platform. Approximately 14,000 third-party sellers on the marketplace. Generates several billion euros annually and is one of the largest e-commerce players in France. Has around 24 million unique visitors per month. GTA 6 has been pre-ordered six times more than Call of Duty, according to the retailer. GTA 6 has achieved six times more pre-orders than both Call of Duty and EA Sports FC in the same period. This is revealed by the French retailer CDdiscount. "GTA 6 is the biggest cultural event of 2026. In just 24 hours, we registered six times more pre-orders than we normally see in an entire traditional pre-order period for major game series like EA Sports FC or Call of Duty. It's historic – we have never experienced anything like it." The information comes from French colleagues at Rockstar Magazine, who received a press release from the retailer. CDdiscount also shared a number of other interesting figures: - On June 25, traffic to the store's gaming section increased by 500 %. - - Between 00:00 and 01:00, traffic was 18 times higher than the same time the night before. - GTA 6 became the most searched term on the website – only surpassed by the search terms "fan" and "portable air conditioner", due to the heatwave currently affecting large parts of Europe. The numbers may not be surprising, but they are undoubtedly record-breaking. Since most are expected to buy the digital version of GTA 6 – especially because the physical version only contains a download code in the box and not a disc – these figures probably represent only a small fraction of the total number of pre-orders. The hope now is that Take-Two Interactive will soon publish official figures for pre-orders. This is possibly expected to happen around the beginning of August, when the company holds its next earnings meeting. Controversy about the physical edition: The figures also show that the controversy surrounding the physical edition of GTA 6 – which only contains a code in the box and not a disc – apparently has had no negative effect on interest or sales. On the contrary, the game continues to break records. At the same time, a new report claims that GTA 6 will probably never be released on physical disc. For several months, I have maintained and stood firm that many analysts probably underestimated the commercial potential for GTA 6 - now analysts must be left with red faces. Even before there was concrete information about the game, I believed that the expected sales figures and forecasts were far too low, and now it seems I was right. Now, the latest reports indicate that interest in GTA 6 is enormous or just the word: GIGANTIC. According to the information circulating, the game has already generated over 3 billion dollars in pre-orders and is approaching 40 million copies sold, even before the official launch on November 19. If these figures prove to be correct, which I 100% believe, we are facing the biggest game release in history – and the game has not even been released yet.
