But if Staffan Dahlström (HMS) joins the board, that's an indication for me! Everyone needs to have an investment philosophy and think for themselves. Some only buy dividends, some speculative companies or a mix, find yours, but think for yourself….

- ·19.5.IT Security from Europe for SMEs: Clavister and HÄUSLER From the classic firewall to segmented protection of critical operational areas Mid-sized companies have invested significantly in their IT security in recent years. Firewalls are in use, systems are maintained, and those responsible are sensitized. This is a good starting point — and exactly the right moment to take the next concrete step. Because the security architecture that is effective today must keep pace with the infrastructure: with networked production systems, cloud services, mobile workstations, external service provider access, and multiple locations. Protection at the internet gateway is established. What matters now is targeted protection within one's own infrastructure — where production, value creation, and business continuity actually take place. According to the BKA's Federal Cybercrime Situation Report 2024, 950 severe ransomware attacks were reported nationwide — two to three cases daily, 80 percent of which affected small and medium-sized enterprises. The numbers show: Cyber Security is an active field of action where clear architectural decisions make the difference. This is exactly where Clavister and HÄUSLER come in: Clavister as a European cyber security platform from Sweden, HÄUSLER as an owner-managed IT and telecommunications partner based in Rastatt near Baden-Baden with over 30 years of experience in the SME sector. The firewall is there. Now it's about the next protection area. In most mid-sized companies, a firewall is in use. This is the right foundation — and it remains a central element of any security architecture. The question that leads us forward today is: Do we use firewall technology specifically to protect our critical operational areas in a segmented manner? A perimeter firewall regulates data traffic at the internet gateway: What comes in, what goes out. The segmented protection of critical operational areas complements this with a second, crucial layer: Which internal areas communicate with each other — consciously, defined, and controlled? Firewall technology unfolds its full potential on this second layer. It creates clear boundaries between the production network, office IT, server environment, backup, and remote maintenance. It makes communication paths visible, documents them, and allows exactly what is operationally necessary. That is the difference between reactive safeguarding and active security architecture. Why now is the right time The framework conditions for IT security in SMEs have fundamentally changed in a short time. Three developments make targeted action particularly sensible today: Cyber Security is a measurable business risk. According to the Bitkom Economic Protection Study 2025, 87 percent of German companies were affected by data theft, espionage, or sabotage — the total damage reached a new record high of 289 billion Euro. At the same time, IT security budgets are rising: companies invest an average of 17 percent of their IT budget in security — a clear signal that Cyber Security has long been part of strategic corporate management.·19.5.The Mittelstand is an attractive target — and well-positioned to protect itself. 96 percent of German companies affected by ransomware have fewer than 5,000 employees. Mittelstand companies possess high-value data, critical production processes, and often privileged access to customers and supply chains — and thus concrete protectability that justifies and requires a clear security architecture. Digitalization creates efficiency and requires a corresponding protection architecture. Every new networked system — cloud services, mobile workplaces, machine access, IoT devices — expands the productive infrastructure. A segmented security architecture grows with it and ensures that digitalization gains are permanently secured. What are critical operational areas? Critical operational areas are all IT, network, and system areas that are central to the company's value creation, production, delivery, customer service, and restart. In the Mittelstand, these are far more than just central servers. These are the areas where IT is directly connected to ongoing operations — and therefore deserve targeted, differentiated protective measures. https://www.haeusler-itk.de/2026/05/07/clavister/
