·2 päivää sittenThe🫡🇵🇱 first three 15 MW turbines, consisting of nacelles produced at Vestas’ factory in Poland, have been installed in the offshore wind farm Baltic Power. This achievement marks a crucial moment for the development of local content in the emerging Polish offshore wind industry. A total of 76 turbines will be installed in Polish waters in the Baltic Sea, and several of the nacelles come from the factory in West Pomerania. The V236-15.0 type nacelles are produced at Vestas’ newly opened facility in Poland, which belongs to the Danish-based world leader in wind power. In this factory, the first of its kind in Poland, Vestas has over 600 employees. Baltic Power is the first commercial customer and the first offshore wind project to install nacelles from this factory. Inside this structure, which in size resembles a three-story building, important equipment is installed that converts wind energy into electricity. The elements of the outer nacelle consist of the hub (to which the blades are attached) as well as lighting and cooling systems. In addition to the locally produced nacelles, the project will install components from Vestas’ nacelle factory in Lindo, Denmark. The installation of the wind turbines started in July 2025. The price has now been almost down to levels from when one was in Covid times, and they have grown since then. The fear among many is probably that it costs money, and one is afraid of cancellations, and that one is left with boats without a contract. I cannot see anything else, and this is probably due to Trump, as it becomes a form of approval for environmental considerations to be at the back of the queue. Offshore wind costs a lot, but I don't think one can avoid it. Technology tends to develop with investment, so one can hope that someone is willing to invest, so that costs can be reduced.
