The market was very short positioned over the weekend. That's not normal buying what you saw yesterday in the USA. And yes. In the USA you can short all kinds of ETFs too: directly with stocks, you can short with options and with 2-5x short ETFs

So if they sell down PLTR, the indexing should take care of it, so that it doesn't affect the entire ETF. That's what makes an index so fascinating.. It has already happened, it is now further down. It was probably at its peak here. Let me give an example. S&P index fund. In the last 30 years, the top 5 holdings in the S&P have been completely replaced every 10 years; there is probably only one (Microsoft) that has managed to stay in the top for almost three decades. All others that were there 10, 20 and 30 years ago are gone, now much further down in the index. The index was not affected by it. It indexes. :). Fascinating stuff.
