·31.7.2025In theory, the Stoxx 50 is not better than the Stoxx 600 as it has worse diversification / more concentration risk. The Stoxx 50 only has the 50 largest companies in the Eurozone, while the Stoxx 600 has the 600 largest in all of Europe, so you get exposure to more countries and medium-sized and small companies as well. In practice, it seems that they follow each other quite closely, so it may not matter much which one you choose. Historically, the STOXX 50 has beaten the STOXX 600 in periods when French and German large companies are leading the way, while the STOXX 600 does better when smaller companies or the UK are doing well.
