·16.4.2025Then it turned out that Ackman had a hedge against the upside... We got through the whole downturn, but were well protected against the upside afterwards. That's talent, now we know what we're paying for. PSH was one of the few active bets I had on the fund side. Here I have to be humble and admit that I missed big. If I start planning to dump the entire portfolio, it will be the MSCI USA / Russell 2000 ETF instead.
·23.4.2025Yes, it's not impressive. The last 5 years - fantastic returns. But 5 years of disaster preceded it. Sum after 10 years. PSH lags behind the market's cheapest US ETF. But they have raised astro fees. 'For talent' - as they write, Which? And their performance should even be seen in the light of the fact that they are capable of 'accreditive' share buybacks with a 30 percent discount to net asset value. Without this, performance would be at Lars Tvede level...

The main point of investing in Pershing Square is that they have been good at hedging, so they have avoided the big drops when the rest of the market has collapsed… Until now, then… Ackman has been practically in love with Trump, and probably never in his wildest imagination could imagine that the market could turn around with him in the White House. So this time we have seen the whole downturn, and then some. I think I will soon dump the whole thing and buy some cheap ETFs instead.
