·18.3.I have looked closer at CanCambria Energy Corp. which has received approval from the Hungarian authorities to exploit resources in Kiskunhalas. It looks very promising and I have today bought a small initial position. Here is what I found :) The Kiskunhalas Tight Gas Sand Project is a large natural gas project in southern Hungary. The project focuses on the extraction of gas from tight sandstone formations (tight gas) in the Pannonian Basin, an area with a long history of conventional energy production. CanCambria Energy Corp. owns 100 % of the project through its Hungarian subsidiary. Scope: The project covers over 265,000 hectares (approx. 1,070 km²), after the company in 2025 won a large concession agreement (KCA), which was merged with their existing mining permit (BA-IX). Resources: Independent evaluations from 2025 have estimated significant quantities of gas and condensate. The latest update showed an increase in contingent resources (2C) to approx. 572 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of gas and 59.6 million barrels of condensate. The project is seen as an important piece in increasing Hungary's and the EU's energy security by reducing dependence on imported Russian gas. Current status and future plans (2025–2026) Drilling permits: The company received its first drilling permit in March 2025 for the appraisal well CC-Ba-E-2, which is planned for a depth of 4,000 meters. Approved operating plan: In March 2026, the Hungarian authorities approved the company's technical operating plan for the new concession area. Timeline: 2026: Implementation of geological and geophysical studies based on existing 3D seismic. 2027: Planned collection of new 3D seismic data. 2029: Commitment to have drilled at least two wells, which can convert the exploration permit into a 20-year production license.
