BriaCell's three press releases in July – what I'm missing BriaCell has released four news items in three weeks: Uneedle (25/6), CRA + Kaleio (7/7), Fujifilm (15/7), and Sunnybrook (16/7). All are about preparing for a future launch – manufacturing, branding, pricing, a new clinic. I remain positive about the treatment. The Phase 2 results are not trivial: half of the patients lived longer than 16.6 months, and 27 % lived over two years – in a group that had already tried six treatments unsuccessfully. But here's something important to understand: management doesn't know how Phase 3 is going. In such a study, everyone is blinded – no one knows which patient received what. Only an independent safety committee, the Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB), sees the real data. They said “continue” this spring, which only means no alarm was raised. It's not an indication that the treatment works. So: management shows that they believe in the product. Not that they know. And belief costs nothing. At the same time: the company spends approximately 2.5 MUSD per month, the auditor has flagged that funds may run out (“going concern”), and the June issue of 4.7 MUSD provided barely two months of operation – without us existing owners being able to participate. Therefore, I want to see signals that cost the company something: 1. A real agreement with Fujifilm. Today's press release uses the word “arrangement” and doesn't mention a single condition – no volumes, no duration, no money. A binding agreement must be reported to the US financial supervisory authority in a so-called 8-K. Did it come? 2. That management buys shares with their own money. This is the strongest signal there is, precisely because it hurts if you're wrong. Such purchases must be reported (Form 4 with SEC) and can be checked on edgar.sec.gov. As far as I can see, no insider purchases have occurred either during the January or June issues. Please correct me if I'm wrong. 3. A new share issue that the market wants. June's occurred at a discount. An issue at full price, with known institutional investors, would mean that professionals with better insight than us have made a positive assessment. 4. Information on how far the study has progressed. The results are to be analyzed when 144 patients have died. How many have we reached? The delay can actually be good – if patients live longer, it takes longer to reach 144. Say that then, instead of being silent. 5. A real partner who pays in advance. The fact that BriaCell hires consultants only means that BriaCell pays. That a pharmaceutical company pays BriaCell – that would be validation. Points 2 and 5 weigh heaviest for me.

On March 31, 2026, BriaCell announced that, through its subsidiary BriaPro, it had completed the acquisition of the exclusive global license for Soluble CD80 (sCD80) – a new type of immunotherapy with the potential to change how we treat cancer. This is not just a technical licensing deal – it is a strategic move that could give BriaCell a unique position in next-generation immuno-oncology. What is sCD80 and why is it important? sCD80 is a soluble protein that has shown in preclinical studies the ability to both block tumors' immune-suppressing signals (e.g., PD-L1) and simultaneously activate the body's own T-cells via CD28. This implies a dual mechanism of action – both immune activation and checkpoint blockade – in one and the same molecule. It is an unusual and potentially groundbreaking strategy that could complement or enhance existing treatments such as PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors. Business implications and competitive advantages BriaCell completed the deal at a low cost – no cash changed hands. Instead, BriaCell received 23.97 million new shares in BriaPro, which increased its ownership stake to 78 %. This means that BriaCell retains the majority of future revenues from sCD80, while minimizing risk by placing development in a separate subsidiary. This is a classic biotech strategy: to ring-fence preclinical assets in a subsidiary to enable external financing, partnerships, or even a future spin-off – without burdening the parent company's balance sheet. It provides flexibility and protects the core business, while retaining control over a potentially valuable asset. Market potential Immunotherapy is one of the hottest areas in oncology, with a global market expected to exceed 200 billion USD within a few years. Most approved immunotherapies focus on blocking immune-suppressing receptors (e.g., PD-1, CTLA-4). sCD80 represents a new point of attack – to restore and enhance the immune system's ability to recognize and fight tumors. Currently, there are no other companies with an sCD80-based therapy in clinical development. This gives BriaCell an opportunity to be first in this niche but potentially very valuable segment. If the technology proves effective in humans, it could open the door for partnerships with larger pharmaceutical companies or even an acquisition. Regulatory opportunities Since sCD80 targets patients who do not respond to existing treatments, there is an opportunity to apply for Orphan Drug Designation or accelerated regulatory pathways (e.g., Fast Track or Breakthrough Therapy Designation) from the FDA and EMA. This can shorten time to market and provide exclusivity, which in turn increases commercial value. Highlights going forward: - Four abstracts on BriaCell's immunotherapies, including sCD80, have been accepted for AACR 2026 – one of the world's most important cancer conferences. This shows that the research is of a high scientific standard and provides increased visibility. - BriaCell has an ongoing Phase III study with Bria-IMT, which is the company's most advanced program. sCD80 could become a future combination partner for Bria-IMT or Bria-OTS+. - With a strong patent portfolio, experienced management, and a clear strategy for managing risk and maximizing value, BriaCell is positioning itself to become an important player in immuno-oncology. Summary The sCD80 deal is a long-term strategic move that strengthens BriaCell's innovative power and future revenue potential. Although the technology is at an early stage, it is precisely such investments that can yield significant returns in biotech – especially when combined with a sound business structure and scientific substance.
