15.8.15.8.I have no stake here, but my automation wanted to short this even now at 160 estimating probable further drop to 140 within a month. reasons are related to guidance weakness, china problems etc. however, seems there are no derivatives available so i cant touch it.
2.9.2.9.Problems? It is just business as usual everywhere. AMAT makes over 7 billion of revenue in a Q and operating margin is over 30%. I would not call that "a problem". It is success, if you want to find a word for it. Semiconductor stocks might be down for a moment but over a reasonable investment timeframe, this sector is only going up. Due to many megatrends we are seeing today.
16.5.·I have two stocks in the semiconductor supply chain, but not AMAT. I will keep an eye on it in the coming days though. Quite a good report in my opinion. I only see the aftermarket reaction as a sell the news event, because it had risen a lot leading up to the report. Everything indicates that demand is still robust and any lasting clarification in the US-China trade relations should be a clear tailwind. The slightly cautious guidance still indicates growth YoY.
