3 päivää sittenI have a position of combined 741 shares across several platforms/brokers. I also have exposure to several hundred more shares through options. I fully believe the company should sell their eBay position and take profit. I've read estimates of approximately 600 MILLION dollars in profit, which is an absurd amount of money. EBay board clearly isn't interested. Hostile M&A of Delaware-based companies is not easy. Going above 10%, all profits made on a trade within 6 months must be delivered to the target company (in this case, eBay). Going above 15% locks out the acquiring party for THREE YEARS. Not only that, it also triggers eBay's poison pill. Which, for those not in the know, means everyone else BUT GameStop gets to purchase shares at a 50% discount. In other words, MASSIVE dilution and a MAJOR financial foot-gun. Joining with other interested parties? Same thing. I.e. GameStop cannot stop at 14.9% and have another party purchase 14.9% and then combine their shares in order to acquire eBay; it would be considered a 13D Group, and everyone involved would get poison pilled. GameStop is unable to present a tender offer because they would requite at least 20 BILLION dollars more in cash, and that's just for the majority position. If this company is serious they will take profit NOW and rake in 600 million dollars in cash. Take risk off the table. Present another beat quarterly earnings report. Maybe even return to eBay in the future with a more favourable offer. The current situation is way too risky IMO. We've put in HALF OUR CASH into eBay. And they clearly do not want us to buy them out. Why risk half our cash on such a risky position in a company that could simply dilute us?????? RC ought to come clean and get the company out of this position, IMO.
