- ·17 t sittenThe problem with Apollo is not necessarily that they are doing something wrong. The problem is that they combine insurance, private loans, and asset management in a way where the risk can be difficult to assess. Apollo owns the insurance company Athene and simultaneously manages a large portion of its investments. Here are the four key risks 1. Conflict of interest: Apollo makes money by managing Athene's investments. This can create an incentive to invest in more complex or riskier loans. 2. Opaque values: Private loans are not traded daily on the exchange. Therefore, it can be difficult to assess whether the loans are actually worth 100 dollars or perhaps only 80. 3. Bermuda and reinsurance: Insurance liabilities can be moved to group companies in other jurisdictions. This can free up capital, but makes it more difficult to see where the risk lies and what capital buffers protect the customers. 4. AI and data center loans: If part of the investments finance data centers, lower demand for AI could lead to loan losses. This can impact Athene's earnings and equity. I might fear that e.g. Apollo/Athene has invested 10 billion dollars in private loans, which are officially valued at 10 billion, but in a crisis can only be sold for 7 billion. Then a loss of 3 billion dollars arises, which can reduce the insurance company's capital buffer. If many investments are hit simultaneously, the problems can spread to the rest of the financial system. My conclusion: The greatest risk is the combination of high complexity, conflicts of interest, and potentially overestimated private loans. This does not mean that Apollo or Athene are insolvent, or that their loans are actually overestimated. My actual concern is that the market only discovers how large the risk is when the loans begin to default.

- ·7.12.2024Apollo Global Management is one of the world's largest alternative asset managers with $733 billion in assets under management as of 30 September 2024. The company is active in private equity, credit and real estate investments. They have had a special focus on energy transition, where they plan to invest up to $50 billion by 2027 and up to $100 billion by 2030. • Apollo has just started trading in investment-grade debt and is working on launching an ETF for private loans. • They have invested $18 billion in private credit loans over the past year, including to Intel and German Vonovia SE. • The company has also purchased a 50% stake in a large solar and battery portfolio in Texas from TotalEnergies that includes 2 GW of solar and battery projects. • Apollo is trying to buy GFL Environmental's environmental services business, which is expected to fetch at least C$6 billion ($4.2 billion). • In addition, Apollo is exploring a potential takeover of packaging company Pactiv Evergreen, which has a market capitalization of about $2.6 billion. ________________________________________ • Assets under management (AUM): $733 billion. • Private credit investments: $18 billion in the past year. • Energy investment targets: $50 billion by 2027 and $100 billion by 2030. • Latest project: 2 GW solar and 300 MW battery storage in Texas. • GFL Environmental's environmental services: expected value $4.2 billion after tax. • Pactiv Evergreen: potential acquisition valued at $2.6 billion. ________________________________________ 1. Private Loan ETF: An ETF is an exchange-traded fund that gives small investors access to assets such as private loans. 2. Investment-grade debt: These are loans to reliable companies with low risk of defaulting on debt. Low risk often means lower returns. 3. Energy transition: Investment in sustainable energy projects such as solar energy and battery storage. These projects have long-term growth potential. ________________________________________ • Energy: Apollo has purchased 50% of a sustainable energy project portfolio from TotalEnergies in Texas. This fits in with their strategy to lead the energy transition. • ETF plans: Apollo wants to make private credit markets accessible to retail investors through a new ETF. • Growth in private credit loans: Loans for e.g. Intel and Vonovia SE underline Apollo's focus on quality projects. ________________________________________ Apollo Global Management shows strong growth and a clear strategy to expand its investments in sustainability and innovative financial products. Their long-term goal of $100 billion in energy investments and focus on private credit loans make them an attractive player for investors. 🌟📈14.1.2025ok - we are aligned... and was not asking for recommendation :) just your thoughts... - ·10.11.2024Overview of Apollo Global Management Inc. (APO) 📈 Apollo Global Management is one of the largest alternative investment managers and specializes in investments in credit, private equity, infrastructure and real estate. The company has significantly expanded its activities, particularly through the acquisition of Atlas SP Partners, which contributes to Apollo's strengthened position in structured credit. Key points about Apollo's Business Strategy and Results: 1. Revenue growth: In Q3 2024, Apollo's total revenue reached $7.773 billion, which is a significant increase over the previous year. The strong revenue comes from diversified investment activities and asset management. 2. Fee-Related Earnings (FRE): Apollo achieved record fee-related earnings of $531 million in the third quarter, demonstrating that the firm's asset management platforms are profitable and stable. 3. Assets Under Management (AUM): Apollo's total assets under management (AUM) have increased to $733 billion, of which $551 billion is generating fees. This is due to a strong influx of capital from both institutional and individual investors. 4. Atlas SP Partners: The company's new subsidiary, Atlas Warehouse Lending Company, has received blue-chip credit ratings and is providing interim financing for loans to be converted into bonds. Moody's expects the portfolio to grow from $6 billion to $30 billion over two years. 5. Athene and Pension Products: Apollo's pension business area, Athene, achieved $20 billion in organic growth in the quarter, enabling Apollo to strengthen its position in the pension market. Investment Considerations 🎯 • Strengths: Apollo shows robust growth in revenue and FRE, at the same time as a diversified business model. Their presence in the pension and credit markets allows for stable growth. • Opportunities: Global economic recovery and increasing demand for pension products provide Apollo with opportunities for further expansion, particularly in retail investments and new product solutions for private investors. • Weaknesses: Increased debt obligations of $337.148 billion and dependence on market conditions may pose potential risks, especially in case of market turmoil. • Recommendations: Given the strong results, Apollo can be considered a hold or buy option for investors, depending on the market situation and the investor's risk appetite. Apollo's goal of achieving $15 in adjusted net earnings per share by 2029 supports the company's focus on growth and stability.
