However, both can be considered the epitome of so-called "defensive companies". I therefore think that the difference in valuation seems quite large. Even though Axfood's moat is larger than Essity's, due to the aforementioned oligopoly, women are not likely to stop buying intimate hygiene products from Libresse in the first place. We are not likely to stop buying Libero diapers for our children. We are not likely to stop buying TORK towels and toilet paper for toilets in public places. We are not likely to stop buying Torky for our kitchens. And we are not likely to stop buying Tena's incontinence products for the elderly (and others with similar problems). Then the question is whether it is Essity's or Axfood's valuation that is wrong – or whether it is both, and the correct valuation is somewhere in between: Essity should perhaps have a P/E of 17, while Axfood should have a P/E of 22? What do you think? MVH!
26.6.·Feels a bit like "the stock that God forgot". What feels extra hard is that everyone in management has super high salaries regardless of how bad the company is doing on the stock exchange. No insider buying either. The question is what is needed for the stock to rise. I think they need to split the company so that each vertical can make its own journey (through acquisitions).
