The company shared for dividend much more than it earned for years, so this was expected? However, now the share price might have a chance to recover once the severe bleeding has been stopped. I must say I've been looking for BCE for some time and were wondering why the management did nothing to straighten the course. Now they've acted.

Well… it has been on a downward trend since 2022. I'm thinking interest costs. But the clown can be very exciting. I'd be interested in taking a position, given the high yield. However, it would be so sad if it just continued to go down.

I interpret it as the dividends for 2025 are already set at $0.9975 and unchanged (i.e. the same as today). https://www.bce.ca/investors/shares-and-dividends/bce.to Sure, this dividend decision for 2025 could be changed if the price falls even further, but how likely is that? Does anyone have any other info? BCE is currently a high risk. The payout ratio is completely unsustainable.
