- ·58 min sittenA few years old, but nothing indicates that the situation has changed – not even after the prosecution is now finished: https://www.dagensjuridik.se/nyheter/ian-lundins-forsvarare-atalet-brister-rakt-igenom-pa-alla-punkter/
- ·1 päivä sittenEurope is now frantically trying to secure new gas supplies after the war in the Middle East. The problem: • Up to ~20% of global LNG has been knocked out or stuck • Primarily from Qatar – a key player in the global market This is a pure supply shock. The market is moving from balance towards deficit, which is driving up TTF – and ultimately electricity prices in Europe. https://www.wsj.com/world/europe/europe-scrounges-for-gas-supplies-in-wake-of-iran-war-a4937435 PS. Definitely starting to smell like 2022.
- ·2 päivää sittenI've received a question about detention and I'm guessing there are at least 100 people in this chat who know this better. But from what I've been able to read, the prosecutor can at any time during a main hearing move (request) that the defendants be remanded if new circumstances have emerged or if the conditions have changed. If the prosecutor yesterday had moved for the accused to be immediately detained, the court would have had to hold a hearing on it and assess the risk of "flight risk," which was the ground the prosecutor referred to. There was also talk of the risk that he would flee to a country that is even more difficult than Switzerland to request extradition from. That wasn't done, but it would have, so to speak, forced a decision that would have given an indication of how the court views all of this right now. One could interpret it as the prosecutors went "all in" with their motion – but without it being adjudicated. I would guess that Ian Lundin will be present during the defense's closing arguments. He initiated the process by welcoming the trial when he gave a small speech outside courtroom 34, and perhaps he will conclude in the same way? Throughout the entire process (when it started), he has said he welcomed it and the trial, even though he did everything to prevent it from becoming a trial. We'll see. Next week, it's the victims' counsel who will hold closing arguments, and then after Easter, it's the defense for ten days. Six days Ian and four days Alex.·1 päivä sitten
